I Heard Your Name

I Heard Your Name

I walked through surf,

heart pounding,

blood rushing,

and I thought of you.

The sun warmed me,

cheered me,

and sparkled on the water,

and I saw your smile.

The sea held me,

rocked me, and

gently stroked my face,

and I felt your touch.

The breeze and

the seabirds and

the little waves spoke to me,

and I heard your name.

  1. Ivor, I am glad you like the poem. Warm weather must be just around the corner for you! I am looking forward to the departure of this pandemic, so I can visit the beach again. The beaches are open, but I am not sure how safe they are. Have a great day! Cheryl

    1. Anisha, this is an intriguing comment. Yes, I agree that love is often intertwined with nature. I have been pondering why this is so. I think that mindfulness of nature is a beautiful human experience that bonds us together when shared with someone we love. I so appreciate your perceptive comment! Take care. Cheryl
