I also did a little research. It was interesting to note that Hindus and several religions celebrate Diwali, also called, the Festival of lights. Hanukkah is the Jewish Festival of Lights. There are many commonalities with Christmas as well…a star, candles, advent wreath, lights on trees. The light and darkness theme seems to be nearly universal. I am happy to celebrate enlightenment on any holiday!
Thank you, Cindy! ❤ I wish you all the joys of the Festival of Lights, as Diwali is also known. Anytime I can celebrate enlightenment, and light triumphing over darkness, I will be happy to! 🙂 I did a bit of research and it seems that celebrations of light over darkness are nearly universal. Isn't that wonderful to know? 🙂
I haven't yet read your post, but I look forward to it. Take care.

Judaism has a Hanukkah menorah with candles. Kwanzaa, the African American holiday, has a kinara with candles. Diwali uses oil lamps, candles, and fireworks.
