    1. Thank you, Narayan. We are surrounded by empty wooded lots with fascinating wildlife. I hope development doesn’t happen too fast! 🙂 All the best to you and your family in the New Year. I wish you many adventures in interesting places, happiness, and success!

    1. Laura, it was so relaxing, wasn’t it? ❤ We did everything low key, simply, and together. Very different from the elaborate family celebrations of years past, but very satisfying in its own way!! thank you so much, Laura, for your lovely comment. 🙂 All the best for 2021…health, happiness, and success!

    1. I am very happy for you, Cindy, having your wonderful family celebrating together. That wasn’t possible for us this year, but Robert and I did enjoy our simple, relaxing holiday. We worked together to cut foliage to make a centerpiece for the table and cooked our simple Christmas Eve meal together.

On Christmas Day, we made a big pot of our favorite soup: ground beef, red cabbage, tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, and okra. We listened to Christmas music, watched movies, played Scrabble, and sat in the sunshine talking. Yes, it was, as you said, “respite for the soul!”

      Wishing you and your family a wonderful 2021! ❤ ❤ ❤

  1. Beautiful lines and photos her Cheryl 💖 Wish you had a fantastic Christmas!
Your backward looks so inviting for a walk, the view of the woods are fascinating. The centerpiece looks really cute and nice on the Christmas table, as does the red spread for Christmas. And the Christmas tree is pretty and nice, and it sings too 💖

Here’s wishing the very best of things, health and otherwise to come your way in this New Year Cheryl, may it be happy and merry always 🙂

    1. Thank you, JoAnna, for your kind comment. We did have a very happy and relaxing holiday… different from the elaborate celebrations we usually have with family members, but wonderful in its own way.

Walking in the mountains is something I used to do a lot of when I lived in Virginia. I moved to Florida in 1995, but hikes in Shenandoah National Park are some of my fondest memories. Walking is a wonderful healthy activity for you and David to get out and have fun. Have a healthy, happy 2021! ❤

    1. Kritika, thank you for your kind comment. I love living here…surrounded by nature. The custom around here is to set off lots of fireworks, so our neighborhood was loud and smoky on New Year’s Eve. We stayed inside and watched a movie. What did you do to celebrate?
