Glowing sunrise…

Going to the river.

Blowing breezes,

flowing water…

Floating downstream .

Slowing the pace,

growing mindful,

knowing serenity.

Glowing sunset…

Going home in peace.

    1. Thank you, Laura, for sharing your thoughts. I saw swans only once on the Shenandoah and in the same location where the photographer took these photos. I think they stop there during seasonal migrations.

      When I lived on the East Coast of Florida, a pair of swans spent a week on the little lake behind my house, Again, I think they were taking a break during a migration. I lived in that house for seven years, but that was the only year I saw the swans.

      I have been fortunate to live in many lovely places, several of them in and around the Mountains of Virginia. That area will always be close to my heart.

The views are magical and you capture its soothing peaceful nature perfectly in your poem. Congratulations on your milestone followers and wow, that is a lot of posts in under a year! 😀

    1. Annika, thank you so much for your lovely remarks. ❤ I am glad you enjoyed the post. During my twenties and thirties, I spent a lot of time swimming and fishing in the Shenandoah River. Before that bridge was built, in 1942, people crossed the river on a ferry.

      A few of the poems I posted were excerpts from my books. I think about 80 were written in the last 10 months. I am not terribly prolific.

I had a reaction to my second covid vaccine, but am getting better. I have not been able to post comments, but tonight when I tried, WordPress seems to be working again. I hope you are safe and well.       1. I would say rest as much as possible. Happy that you are getting better. Need to be a lot careful with eyes. Stay away from screen for a longer time.
        WordPress too has its own issues. No idea what change it brings next.
        I am safe and healthy. Very much taking care of self. Please do take care of your health. (Hearts) (Hugs)

  36. I love how the trees seem to be trying to hold onto the bridge. Almost like nature is showing who really owns the bridge, or perhaps offering its own strength to ensure it holds strong with all the people travelling over it.

The bridge has served motorists for eighty years and seems to be ready to carry traffic for a while longer! If the bridge is replaced, I fear the new bridge will be more utilitarian and less picturesque. 🙂
