Thoughts on the New Year

1

Twenty-twenty-one…

Goodbye! Goodbye! Good riddance!

I won’t miss you much!

2

I am used to you,

twenty-twenty-one. You are

the devil I know.

3

What is worth saving?

What needs to go in the trash

as we move forward?

4

A shiny new year,

like a new diamond ring…

So full of promise!

5

Time to reflect…

Welcome twenty-twenty-two!

Time to turn the page!

It’s time to pause, to reflect, to write, to make New Year’s Resolutions (or not). I will focus on these objectives from now until 2022, and may not be as active on the blog as usual.

Happy Holidays! Happy New Year!

  1. Now that is a quality poem – Hopefully T3 (Twenty,Twenty,Two) will help us wipe away the bad memories of the last two – time will tell, but I’m staying optimistic as we pack for our annual trek south – we have some birds to shoot!

  2. I almost hate to wish for a better year in 2022. We all did that last year and look how things turned out! Maybe we jinxed ourselves. Perhaps we should all wish for a crummy year so we can jinx it the other way, lol.

  3. I love this poem. Goodbye 21 . I sure hope this year will be better. It isn’t starting off to good as far as Covid. My two best friends got it and now we can’t hang out. But luckily they had all three shots and it’s not life threatening.

    1. So happy that you like the poem, Genie. Thank you for your kind comment. I am sorry to hear about your friends having covid. My niece, her husband, and two of her three children have covid. Robert and I had it two years ago. Our neighbors and many family members have had it. We are vaccinated and boosted and hope never to get it again. Time for covid to disappear! Best wishes for 2022! ❤
