A Day on Daylight Savings Time

Crisis of the day

resolved by evening phone call.

Movie with popcorn.

Midnight Scrabble game.

Drowsy, drifting off to sleep,

soothed by pleasant dreams.

Awakening late.

Soulmate snoring beside me,

ticking of the clock.

Cozy under quilt.

Slowly, consciousness returns…

haiku on my mind.

Bright, cheery sunshine.

Birds sing morning melodies,

fly in for breakfast.

Thank you for your kind words, Frank. You made my day! πŸ’•πŸ˜ŽπŸ’•

Time changes were always difficult for me. It is easier being retired. Only on rare occasions do I set an alarm clock. I stay up when I feel like it and get up whenever I wake up.

Are you still at the beach, or are you enjoying springtime in Ohio? Wherever you are, I wish you a blissful day! 🐣πŸ₯

Back to springtime in Ohio … which is also the craziness of March. It’s roared a little – and also been like a lamb – so time will tell what the rest of the month brings.

On a related note, we were in Central time for two months … then returned home to Eastern Time (adjustment) … then one week later Daylight Savings Time. The combination was quite a shock!

Ivor, interesting that Australia also has daylight savings time, and that our times overlap. I always found the transitions difficult, but now that I am retired, I ignore time change whenever I can!πŸ˜„ Thank you for your lovely comment!

All the best! ❀️ Hug Frankie for me! He is a delightful dog! πŸ•πŸ’•πŸΆ

Thanks for all the good vibes here from drowsy drifting to cozy quilts to cheery sunshine! I wish I could sleep with the soulmate snoring beside me. Seems I’m only able to do that when completely exhausted or on a full dose of Benadryl.

Cheryl, what a beautiful poem! 🌼 It glows with so much warmth and comfort. I agree with you, the little everyday moments, like a friendly phone call in the evening or a game of Scrabble together, make life so special. And the thought of a sunny morning with birdsong is simply magical! Thank you for sharing these beautiful thoughts with usβ€”they bring a smile to my heart! β˜€οΈβœ¨

da-AL, either daylight savings time or standard time year-round would be fine with me. The transitions between the two can be difficult.

I used to hate getting up at 5 or 5:30 and going to work in the dark. I think parents are concerned about students walking to school or sitting at bus stops before daylight..

On the other hand, long summer evenings are delightful! Let’s enjoy! πŸ’•πŸ˜Ž πŸ’•
