There are many pileated woodpeckers living in the woods near our home. Sometimes I can watch one from my window.

We humans think that we re the most or only special species, but we couldn’t do the things some species do. Take a hummingbird for example, look at how tiny she is, but have you seen her next? And what about a spider’s web?

O its beautiful. It is what there nature is right? This is what they are meant to do. Hopefully there heads won’t be hurting.

Woodpeckers have a protective layer in their heads that absorbs shock. Thank you for your kind comment. Glad you like the poem, Kritika.
