We Call for Peace

We Citizens of the World,

banners unfurled,

support human rights,

and we’ve set our sights

on democracy and equality,

justice and opportunity.

We call for wars to cease,

an era of good will and peace.

Thank you, Paul! The thought of a certain emperor with no clothes has little appeal, but I agree with you that his true self should be laid bare! War is the last thing I would wish for! 💕Peace!

Having watched the movie Billy Jack several times (it must have been when I worked at the movie theater) I bought the single of the closing song, “One Tin Solider” and learned to play it on my guitar. The message still holds up, and I keep wondering why we humans are still having wars. We should be well beyond war by now. When will we ever learn? More and more, I believe that We the citizens of the world do want an end to wars and a lasting era of good will and peace. It’s some of the so called “leaders” who are behind the times. Thank you for this Call for Peace.

JoAnna, thank you for your wonderful comment! ❤️ I agree that this old song still has a message for our time. I wish humanity could move beyond wars. I believe that civilized people everywhere want to build and not to destroy, to heal and not to kill. The greed and lust for power of the few still overide common sense and common decency and lead to violence and war. Yes, when will we ever learn?

Thank you for sharing about playing the song on your guitar. I am seeing and hearing that inspiring scene in my mind. 🎵🎶🎵
