To My Forebears
I want to call you,
Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, and Dad,
when I have good news.
I want to call you
and hear you say one more time,
“I’m so proud of you!”
I want to tell you, “Thank you
for helping me on my way!”

Thank you, Lance, for your beautiful and perceptive comment. I have cried only twice in six years. Once was while trying to read this poem aloud to my significant other. I appreciate that you felt what I was trying to communicate. All the best. Cheryl
