Little Human vs. Global Destruction

Little Human vs. Global Destruction

Global Destruction, a villian

about as bad as they come,

believed his evil takeover plan

was too big to be undone.

“What do I care, little human,

for your miniscule potential?

Do what little you can;

it’s quite inconsequential!”

Joy sprang like a weed

in the little human’s heart.

He knew humans could succeed

if they all did their part!

  1. Watching the protests in Glasgow is the only thing related to this conference that gives me hope. I think it is down to the people on the streets to save the planet, as our current politicians have too many vested interests. I hope and pray the protesters will become the politicians of the future. I wish I could be there in Glasgow, it is so close to my home!

    1. Thank you, Ingrid, for your thoughtful remarks. I wish you could have been in Glasgow. I like what you say about the protesters becoming the politicians of the future. With regard to the politicians, the US has some “doozies!” It makes me sick at heart to see how many people swallow their lies and disinformation campaigns. I think what you say about vested interests is all too true about many politicians.

      All the best, Ingrid! ❤

    1. Thank you, Frank! Means a lot that you like the poem. 🙂 I like your reference to the children’s classic. How can all those worldly and educated leaders forget such basic truth? I hope they remember and act on it! Have a great day!

  2. So cute, and so apt, Cheryl. But the way things are moving, I’m hopeful that everything has not yet been lost, if we all, particularly politicians, practise what we preach.💐💐🌹❤️

    1. Thank you, KK, for your kind and thoughtful remarks. I think we are doing well on the scientific front. It is the will to put our knowledge into action that is lacking. Politics should not blind our leaders to a crisis situation, but it seems that it often does. You are so right that we need to “practice what we preach!” All the best! ❤ ❤ ❤

  3. Wonderful poem. At least the environmental crisis has become top of mind now. It wasn’t three years ago when I wrote a Sci-Fi novel Micromium: Clean Energy from Mars. It may be too late if the politicians prevail.

    1. David, I agree with your thoughtful comment. I try not to lay all the blame on the politicians, but the actions of some are so counterintuitive that it smacks you like a pie in the face!

Maybe your novel was ahead of its time. It may receive a better reception now that there is more public awareness.

      Have a great day! 🙂
